The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, warmly received a delegation of students and faculty members from Washington and Lee University, USA, as part of their 21-day academic seminar in Ghana.
The visiting group, comprising students and two faculty members, is participating in an intensive seminar titled ‘Development, Trust, Technology, and Social Cooperation in Ghana.’
The visit aimed to provide students with deeper insights into the opportunities and challenges of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in a developing-nation context.
Welcoming the students on behalf of the Director General of GI-KACE, Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe, Director for Corporate Affairs at GI-KACE, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Centre’s vision, core mandates, strategic partnerships, training programmes, and ongoing innovative projects.
She highlighted GI-KACE’s pivotal role in Ghana’s digital transformation agenda and its contribution to building a skilled ICT workforce.
The students actively engaged management and staff with insightful questions on topics ranging from Ghana’s digital skills initiatives and cybersecurity to artificial intelligence and the impact of technology on national development. The interactive session fostered meaningful exchanges between the US delegation and the GI-KACE team.
As part of the visit, the delegation was taken on a guided tour of the Centre’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the supercomputer. They also had the opportunity to view some of GI-KACE’s innovative technology solutions currently being developed and deployed.

Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe expressed delight at hosting the delegation, stating, “We are excited to host these bright minds from Washington and Lee University. Such international visits provide a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and strengthen Ghana’s position on the global ICT stage. We look forward to more partnerships of this nature.”
Present at the engagement were key members of the GI-KACE management team, including Mrs. Priscilla Hope, Project Manager; Nana Fosu Nyante, Business Development Manager, and other senior staff who shared their expertise and experiences with the visitors.
The visit underscores GI-KACE’s commitment to fostering international academic partnerships and positioning Ghana as a hub for ICT excellence in Africa.
