The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) and the Indian High Commission have held a meeting to discuss a continuous collaboration and capacity building in digital innovation.
The meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening digital innovation and capacity building in Ghana, focusing on collaborative efforts to drive digital transformation.
The Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Shri Manish Gupta; the Second Secretary (Pol, DP) & HOC to Ghana, Shri Vikram Singh Thakur and Wishwell K. Yorke, Clerk, Political & Development Partnership, Indian High Commission-Ghana, were in attendance.
The Director-General of GI-KACE, Ing. Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari, during the discussion highlighted the need for increased infrastructure to accommodate growing demand and expressed hope for scholarship opportunities in line with GI-KACE’s strategic objectives that would enable more Ghanaian students to benefit from the Centre’s cutting-edge training programs.

Ing. Dr. Yaw Okraku-Yirenkyi, the Director of Studies at GI-KACE, reiterated the need for upskilling GI-KACE’s instructors through scholarships and exchange programmes with Indian institutions.
The Director of Finance & Administration at GI-KACE, Mr. Stephen Baffoe, was optimistic that the capacity-building programs for the Centre’s dedicated faculty members would enhance the Centre’s value.
Mr. Frederick Yeboah, Director of Research & Innovation at GI-KACE, stressed the need to leverage the power of artificial intelligence to further advance Ghana’s technological landscape.
The High Commissioner Gupta applauded GI-KACE’s progress over the years and requested that the Director General of GI-KACE submit a proposal to the Indian High Commission, outlining specific capacity-building initiatives and digital innovation projects in the areas in which GI-KACE has consistently excelled.
The meeting between GI-KACE and the Indian High Commission demonstrates a shared commitment to promoting digital innovation and capacity building aimed at driving economic growth, improving digital literacy, and empowering the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
