The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) has pledged its full support for the One Million Coders Initiative, following a courtesy visit by Hon. Mohammed Abdul-Aziz, Deputy Director-General of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE), and Coordinator of the national digital skills programme.
The visit formed part of Hon. Abdul-Aziz’s ongoing stakeholder engagements to build strategic partnerships ahead of the programme’s full-scale rollout in early 2026.
He was received by Mr. Eric Adjei, Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, who lauded the One Million Coders initiative as a timely and complementary effort to the government’s job creation agenda.

Synergy with “Adwumawura” Programme
Mr. Adjei noted that NEIP’s experience in implementing the “Adwumawura” programme, another flagship initiative of the President Mahama-led administration offered valuable lessons that could inform the successful execution of One Million Coders.
“We believe in the power of coordinated impact. Just like Adwumawura, One Million Coders has the potential to create sustainable employment for thousands of young people. NEIP is ready to contribute through mobilisation, innovation support, and entrepreneurship development,” he said.
Digital Skills as a Pathway to Opportunity
Hon. Abdul-Aziz welcomed the collaboration, emphasizing the central role of digital skills in unlocking new opportunities for Ghanaian youth and startups.
“This programme isn’t just about training coders, it’s about building a new generation of digital creators, problem solvers, and entrepreneurs. NEIP’s experience and nationwide networks make them a critical partner in this journey,” he stated.

GI-KACE Delegation
Hon. Abdul-Aziz was accompanied by key members of the GI-KACE team, including Ms. Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe, Director of Corporate Affairs; Mr. Fredrick Yeboah, Director of Innovation; and Ms. Priscilla Hope, Project Manager.
The One Million Coders programme a flagship initiative of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama seeks to equip one million Ghanaians with industry-relevant digital and coding skills, with global tech partners such as Google, MTN, and Telecel providing certification and technical support.
