GI-KACE New Board Holds First Meeting

The newly inaugurated Board of Directors for the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) held its first meeting at the Centre to explore strategic and innovative ways to enhance the centre's operations. The inaugural meeting which took place on September 9, 2025, focused on building a strategic direction for the Centre's future with an emphasis on leveraging technology for economic growth and development. The board members discussed topics, including enhancing the Centre's curriculum to meet the demands of the global job market, expanding its reach to underserved communities, and fostering partnerships with both local and international organizations.

On July 31, 2025 the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations (MoCDTI), Hon. Samuel Nartey George, inaugurated the Governing Board for the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE). In his remarks, Hon. Samuel Nartey George tasked the board with an urgent mandate: to work towards securing a legislative framework for GI-KACE, as the Centre currently operates without an enabling Act of Parliament. He stressed that a legislature would not only enhance the Centre’s autonomy but also strengthen its mandate to drive the nation’s digital transformation agenda.
