The African Intelligence Club (AIC) has paid a courtesy visit to the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) to discuss a collaborative initiative aimed at enhancing Ghana’s representation at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in Bolivia.
The purpose of the visit was to deliberate on how GI-KACE can serve as a helping hand to assist in sustaining Ghanaian youth to represent at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) annually and also seek partnership to promote digital literacy, coding, and ICT innovation across Ghana and the broader African continent.
The Project Manager at AIC, Janet Kwakye, revealed that, unfortunately, since 2013, Ghana has faced financial and logistical challenges that have limited the participation in the IOI, however, on July 27, 2025, four brilliant high school students are expected to be in Bolivia to represent Ghana for the IOI, an indication for Gana’s return to the prestigious event after a 14-year absence.
According to her, the founder and adviser for the AI Club, Efraim Weaver and Christopher Weaver will be in Ghana for the bootcamp that will be organized for the four brilliant high school students as well as discuss strengthening their partnership with GI-KACE.

Speaking on behalf of the Director General at GI-KACE, Fred Yeboah, the Director for Research and Innovation, described GI-KACE as the originator in promoting digital literacy, coding, and ICT innovation in Ghana and across Africa.
He expressed the willingness of the centre to assist in supporting AIC’s initiatives in relation to capacity building and training programs for students and teachers.
Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe, Director for Corporate Affairs at GI-KACE was optimistic that GI-KACE’s assistance to AIC will help build a brighter future for Ghanaian students and contribute to the country’s development.

The two organizations are set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize their partnership and outline the scope of their collaboration.
This MOU will provide a framework for joint initiatives, including capacity building, training programs, and support for students and teachers.
