The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to advance digital innovation and provide robust support to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Ghana. This strategic partnership aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 17, which emphasizes partnerships for sustainable development. Central to the collaboration is the MSME Digital Gateway, a comprehensive platform designed to offer access to entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth in underserved rural communities to vital resources, business formalization tools, funding opportunities, and eCommerce capabilities.

Director-General of GI-KACE, Ing. Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Director-General of GI-KACE, Ing. Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari, described the MoU as a pivotal milestone in the mission to bridge Ghana’s digital divide. “This MOU marks a crucial step in our shared vision to leverage digital innovation for the advancement of MSMEs in Ghana.” Through this initiative, we aim to transform the stories of everyday Ghanaians, whether it's a farmer in the Volta Region selling produce nationwide, a young artisan in Kumasi receiving his first online order, or a woman in Tamale accessing a business loan with just a few clicks.”
He added that GI-KACE is honored to lead the technical implementation of the initiative and is committed to ensuring its sustainability, scalability, and long-term relevance
UNDP Resident Representative, Mr. Niloy Banerjee, underscored the importance of the collaboration in accelerating inclusive, ICT-led development in Ghana. “By combining UNDP’s global networks with GI-KACE’s grassroots expertise, we can ensure that no entrepreneur is left behind in Ghana’s digital revolution. This partnership deepens our commitment to supporting local action that delivers on global goals.” he said.

Representing GI-KACE at the event were Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe, Director of Corporate Affairs; Fred Yeboah, Director of Research; and Dr. Patrick Ofei, Director of Consultancy.
