The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) has officially commenced the “eSkills4Jobs” initiative, offering free courses designed to equip participants with essential digital skills needed to thrive in today’s job market.
The initiative which has a duration of 6 months for the first Phase will have participants experiencing hands-on training in Web Technology, Data Analytics with Power BI, Data Science, Graphic Design and Multimedia Technology, Microsoft AI, Cybersecurity Operations, Digital Marketing, AI for Office Productivity, and Blogging.
The ‘eskills4Jobs’ training is a fully sponsored digital training and certification program sponsored by the World Bank, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation (MoCD) and the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE).
Ing. Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari, Director General at GI-KACE that the ‘eskills4jobs’ initiative as an essential force for digital transformation in critical productive sectors.
“The ‘eskills4jobs’ project is an integral component of the Ghana Digital Acceleration Project (GDAP) initiative, which aligns with the Government of Ghana’s ICT Policy aiming at addressing the urgent demand for digital skills, particularly among marginalized communities” he explained.
Ing. Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari further explained that the program is designed not only to enhance employability but also to foster innovation and create quality job opportunities within the digital economy which will lead to improved efficiency and productivity across various industries.
Ing Dr. Yeboah-Afari, who holds multiple IT industry certifications, including Agile Certified Practitioner and ITIL v3, encouraged the youth and women to seize this opportunity and embrace the free opportunities presented by GI-KACE, the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, and the World Bank.
The following courses are currently underway:
1. Data Science (9 am – 1 pm): Ashanti, Central and Upper East regions.
2. Data Analytics with Power BI (9 am – 1 pm): Available in Greater Accra, Upper East, Bono, Eastern, and Northern regions.
3. Microsoft AI (9 am – 1 pm): Ashanti and Bono regions.
4. Cyber Ops (9 am – 1 pm): Being held in Northern, Greater Accra, Upper East, and Volta regions.
6. Web Technology (10 am – 2 pm): Accessible at Central, Greater Accra, Northern, and Ashanti regions.
