Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan Bekoe, Director for Corporate Affairs at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE), highlighted the transformative power of creativity in driving progress and building successful ventures at the 10th African Summit on Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ASENTI 2024) in Accra.
Speaking on behalf of Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari, the Director General of GI-KACE, Hemaa delivered a welcome address that urged attendees to embrace innovative thinking as a vital element of their entrepreneurial journeys. In her speech, Kobi Hemaa stressed the importance of innovation as a foundation for tackling pressing issues such as climate change, economic development, social justice, and technological advancement. She revealed that recent data indicates a significant increase in internet penetration and digital technology adoption across Africa, marking a pivotal moment for the continent. Hemaa encouraged participants to seize this opportunity to collaborate, share knowledge, and inspire one another.
Hosted at GI-KACE under the theme, “Africa Innovating for a Sustainable Future and Beyond,” the summit emphasizes the urgent need for collaborative efforts to address the continent’s challenges through innovative solutions. ASENTI 2024 is a Pan-African annual forum that gathers a diverse range of stakeholders, including innovators, SMEs, startups, educators, and investors, for intensive discussions on entrepreneurship and innovation in Africa. This year’s summit brings together international and continental industry leaders and influencers to share knowledge and forge mutually beneficial connections.
In remarks delivered on behalf of Ekow Sampson, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, the importance of creating an ecosystem where entrepreneurship can thrive was emphasized. He stated, “By fostering economic growth, job creation, and social impact, Africa can forge pathways that resonate well beyond its borders.”
Kehinde Ogundane, Country Manager of Zoho Technologies Ltd, Nigeria, spoke on the topic, “How Innovation Can Be a Catalyst for Africa as a Whole,” asserting that the summit will serve as a catalyst for advancing sustainable development and economic growth across the continent.
The 2024 African Summit on Entrepreneurship and Innovation has commenced, uniting leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across Africa to explore new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
